We challenge the concept that a child can effectively “outgrow” an allergy. If a child were able to outgrow an allergy, it would also serve that they have the potential of growing into an allergy. TIP focuses on long-term tolerance using a data-driven approach that treats the entire allergic profile. With the introduction and regular consumption of similar proteins shared by your child’s allergens, we are able to properly prep the immune system to handle large and infrequent doses of all foods, including those that once caused severe allergic reactions. Often, as a child’s immune system matures with age and as their diet changes to include a wider variety of proteins, allergens that once caused Grade 2 anaphylaxis may present themselves in less severe Grade 1 reactions. However, since the immune system will continue to produce IgE, regardless of severity, the consumption of those allergens presents the risk of anaphylaxis at any given time if not properly treated.
